	Loosen up the soil of the selected planting site, and add compost for added soil nutrition.
	Dig a hole twice as large as the root ball of the hellebore plant and place it carefully in the soil. Make sure it is only 1 inch deep in the soil, and the crown is not submerged beneath the surface, as this can suffocate the roots.
	After planting, fill up with soil and dab it well to remove air pockets. Ensure the space between all the plants is at least 12-18 inches, as this gives space for each flower to grow and reduces the risk of overcrowding.
	Water every 3 days during the growing stage, but look out for waterlogging, as that can cause root rot. Feed the hellebore plant with slow-release, balanced fertiliser once in spring and then in autumn.

How Should I Care for the Hellebore Flower? 

I have to agree that the hellebore is quite low-maintenance, like the coneflower, but there are a few things that I actively do that help me maintain my hellebore plant. 

1. Pruning: This is best done in late spring as the new buds emerge, and helps provide space for the new flowers. Removing the dead and diseased foliage also helps prevent the infection and makes the plant look tidier. 

2. Fertiliser: For hellebore flowers, use a balanced slow-release fertiliser between February and March when the plant has new growth emerging and once again in late summer. 

3. Pests and Diseases: Hellebore aphids are the most common pests that trouble these perennial flowers, followed by Spider mites.

The symptoms for the same include curled-up leaves and webbing on leaves. Treat them with insecticidal soap or Neem oil.
